Ian Gray to Succeed Mohamed Nossier as Vodafone Egypt Chairman
Richard Daly to take over as Interim CEO
Vodafone Egypt today announces that Ian Gray, the current CEO for Vodafone Egypt, will succeed Mohamed Nossier as Chairman of Vodafone Egypt in September 2007, and that Richard Daly will simultaneously take over as the company’s Interim CEO.
In addition to his new role as Vodafone Egypt Chairman, Ian Gray has also been appointed CEO Eastern Europe for Vodafone Group, reporting to EMAPA CEO Paul Donovan. Richard Daly, his successor as Vodafone Egypt CEO, was previously Mr Gray's Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer.
Mohamed Nossier has announced his intention to step down from the position of Chairman of Vodafone Egypt which he has held since 1998, in order to devote himself to new opportunities. He does so in the confidence that the Board of Vodafone Egypt will continue to lead a successful and distinct company in the Egyptian market.
The new appointments and Chairman Nossier’s news that he would be stepping down were announced at the Vodafone Egypt OGM & EGM in Cairo on 25 June 2007.
At the meeting it was also agreed that shares in Vodafone Egypt would be voluntarily de-listed from the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchanges in accordance with stock market rules.
