Richard Daly is appointed as CEO of Vodafone Egypt

01 September 2007

Richard Daly is appointed as CEO of Vodafone Egypt on a permanent basis with immediate effect, reporting to Paul Donavan, CEO EMAPA. Richard joined the Egyptian business in 2005 as Chief Commercial officer from the UK where he had held a number of senior commercial roles since 2000. He was appointed Interim CEO a number of months ago. Most recently Richard has successfully led the business through the launch of a third market entrant and the introduction of 3G.

Following the retirement of Mohammed Nosseir as Non-Executive Chairman of Vodafone Egypt, Ian Gray CEO Central Europe will assume this role. This will allow for continuity of relationships, particularly with our strategic partner Telecom Egypt, who owns approx 45% of the business.
