Vodafone Australia improves billing experience for customers migrating to iPhone 3G caps

25 July 2008

Vodafone Australia has taken action to improve its new and existing customers' transition to Apple's iPhone 3G.

Normally, current Vodafone customers transition to a new cap at the end of their monthly billing cycle. However, to enable customers to use and enjoy mobile internet, mobile email and other data services on their new iPhone 3G, Vodafone has changed its billing policy. From July 23, all existing Vodafone customers that have chosen an iPhone 3G cap can immediately begin using the voice and data allowance within their cap.

Existing customers that selected a Vodafone iPhone 3G cap prior to July 23 will continue to use their pre-existing plan until the completion of their monthly billing cycle. Vodafone is currently reviewing the data charges for these customers. Vodafone will waive any data charges that would not have been incurred if the customer had been able to use their iPhone 3G cap, with its voice and data allowance, from the outset.

Customers will be able to view details of the credit that Vodafone has applied to their respective accounts by visiting www.vodafone.com.au/MyVodafone. The timing of account credits will vary and is subject to each customer’s iPhone 3G purchase date and billing cycle.
