Vodafone Group Plc ("Vodafone") announces that it has today completed its acquisition of the interests of British Telecommunications Plc ("BT") in Japan Telecom Co., Ltd. ("JT") and J-Phone Communications Co., Ltd ("JPC"), for a cash consideration of approximately £3.07 billion.  Vodafone inteds to complete its acquisition of BT's interests in the operating subsidiaries of JPC during July 2001.
