Vodafone Group Plc ("Vodafone") announces that Dr Klaus Esser has decided to leave the Board with effect from 30 September 2000.

Dr Esser joined the Board of Vodafone on 5 June 2000 as a deputy chairman and non- executive director and since then has been closely involved in the integration of Vodafone and Mannesmann and the successful sales of the remaining non telecoms businesses of Mannesmann.
