On 8 May 2007, Vodafone announced completion of the acquisition of Hutch Essar.
Vodafone and Essar agreed partnership terms on 15 March 2007. Hutchison Essar will be renamed Vodafone Essar and, in due course, the business will market its products and services under the Vodafone brand.
