Can we help you immediately?
To provide the quickest response possible, we have prepared answers to the most common queries we receive from ordinary shareholders. If you cannot find the information you need below then please continue to the e-mail form. Comprehensive information can also be found in Ordinary Shareholder FAQs.
Registrars
The Registrars are responsible for ensuring your shareholder details are recorded accurately. They also help you with the administration of your shareholding and provide a wide variety of self-service tools to help you track and manage your personal shareholding. Vodafone's Registrars are Computershare Services PLC:

Shareholder forms and certificates
You can request the forms you need to manage your shareholding from our Registrars, including share transfer forms, dividend mandates and probate notings. Share certificates are evidence of your ownership of the shares - similar to the deeds of your house or your insurance policies - and so should be kept in a safe place. The Registrars are able to issue duplicate share certificates, although they may charge for this service.
Dividend payments
Dividends are paid twice yearly, usually in February and August (see Dividend History). We have provided information about dividend payments, dividend tax and our dividend re-investment plan (DRIP) in Investor FAQs. Dividends are managed by our Registrars and you should contact them for any assistance and for a dividend mandate form.
Calculating your shareholding
You can determine the number of shares you hold in your name by adding up all your share certificates (please note, however, that any certificates dated before 29 June 1999 are invalid, due to the merger with AirTouch Communications, Inc.) or referring to a recent dividend tax voucher, or by contacting the Registrars. If you hold shares in a PEP, ISA, or through a stock broker nominee service, you should refer to your statement or contact the appropriate administrator.
Company documents
All publicly-available documents are available to download from this website. You can register to receive Company documents and other Company communications via the 'electronic shareholder communications' service run by the Registrars.
Shareholder Reference Number (SRN)
Your SRN is included on any personalised documentation the Registrars send you. For certificated holders the SRN will start with a C followed by 10 numerical digits and for CREST holders the SRN will start with a G followed by 10 numerical digits. You should quote this number whenever you contact the Registrars to speed up the location of your account.
Consolidation of share accounts
Shareholders whose total registered shareholding is represented by more than one account, evidenced by the receipt of duplicate copies of communications from the Company to shareholders, and who wish to have their holdings consolidated should send an appropriate letter of instruction to the Company's Registrars.
Shareholder benefits
The Company does not offer shareholders any benefits or concessions (such as discounted phones).
ShareGift
The Company supports ShareGift, the charity share donation scheme administered by The Orr Mackintosh Foundation (registered charity number 1052686). Through ShareGift, shareholders who have only a very small number of shares that might be considered uneconomic to sell, are able to donate them to charity. Donated shares are aggregated and sold by ShareGift, the proceeds being passed on to a wide range of UK charities. Donating shares to charity gives rise neither to a gain nor loss for UK Capital Gains purposes and UK taxpayers may also be able to claim income tax relief on such gifts of shares.
ShareGift transfer forms specifically for Vodafone shareholders are available from the Company's Registrars.
