Change your world and
make a World of Difference

Have you ever wanted to make a difference? Well, so do we. Sometimes however, life can get in the way.

Back in July, we asked the UK public: what would you do if you could devote a whole year of your time to a charity and get paid to do it? The amazing chance to work for your dream charity plus up to £25,000 towards your outgoings was on offer, thanks to World of Difference, a programme established by The Vodafone Foundation.

Hundreds of people applied to put their jobs on hold for one year and donate themselves to work for their favourite charities. We were overwhelmed with the quality of responses and as a result, our judges selected not just four, but six individuals to make a World of Difference.

Demonstrating an amazing passion, commitment and clear objectives, the judges selected these people who will be starting their World of Difference year in December:

Lucy Caslon with Msizi Africa more

Naomi Glass with Spitalfields City Farm more

Andrew Lamb with Engineers Without Borders UK more

Alexander McLean with African Prisons Project more

Miguel Ramirez with SolarAid more

Jean Westmacott with Cerebral Palsy Africa more

From December and during 2009, you’ll be able to see updates about their progression at the charity and how their life has changed.

We would like to thank those of you who applied for sharing your passion and enthusiasm with us and wish you every success in continuing to support your charity. Reading through the many different applications and learning about the work of so many organisations has been a humbling experience for us and has confirmed just how many people are already making a world of difference in their own right.
