Like any successful business, we want to employ talented, committed people who can help provide what our customers demand: the best communications solutions and the very best customer service.
We engage and motivate our employees through regular one-to-one meetings, through mentoring and support, by offering attractive pay and benefits, and by providing training and development to people at all levels of the company.
We make sure that employees work in safe, attractive environments and have access to the support they need to keep fit and healthy.
We understand that every individual works differently and we want our employees to work in the most effective way for them. We encourage them to work both flexibly and remotely, and provide them with the most up-to-date communications technology to help them do so.
Talented people come from all backgrounds. We promote diversity at Vodafone because we know it contributes to innovation and creativity and because a diverse workforce better represents our customer base.
In April 2011 we announced the relocation of 265 roles from offices in Newbury and Trowbridge to our state-of-the-art contact centre in Stoke-on-Trent.
Employees had the opportunity to move with the jobs but we were aware that this option would not be widely taken up.
We provided support to those affected to find another job with Vodafone or elsewhere. This included help with CV writing, interview skills, and financial and retirement planning.
