The Vodafone Foundation is the lead supporter of Telecoms Sans Frontieres, funding this unique humanitarian NGO to deploy lifesaving mobile and satellite technology for emergency relief missions.
TSF teams are on call 24/7 to deploy enabling TSF to deploy anywhere within 48 hours of an emergency to establish communications centers and humanitarian calling operations that provide 3-minute phone calls for people caught up in the disaster areas.
During the Haiti earthquake in 2010 TSF deployed for 6 weeks providing humanitarian calling operations which assisted over 10,500 families, the UN mission, local authorities and humanitarian organisations.
