Around the world, companies are making the evolution towards becoming digital businesses. The increasing adoption of social, cloud, analytics and M2M technologies is enabling businesses to innovate and make bigger and faster transformations than ever before.
As these transformations take place around us, businesses are looking more and more to work together in partnerships and alliances. They are expanding their boundaries and exploiting relationships with digital businesses, customers, and devices, becoming greater than the sum of their parts. The change in mind-set from acting as an isolated, self-reliant enterprise to being part of connected ecosystem is a key element in what has been labelled the “we economy”.
Working with our partners we can create compelling new products and services. At this year’s Mobile World Congress, we showcased our own varied and expansive digital ecosystem, demonstrating our relationships with customers and partners across a variety of industries using M2M as part of their digital transformations.
Along with our alliance partner Accenture, we showed a connected home demonstration for security and energy management. With our M2M partner Huawei, we showcased a video assisted driving demonstration, where drivers get video information from other connected vehicles in their proximity. In collaboration with Porsche, we demonstrated Porsche Car Connect – using a mobile phone app to access telematics services for vehicle management, safety and security.
In addition, we showed M2M solutions for security with Panasonic’s 4G cameras, smart street lighting with DW Windsor, and a smart city solution with IBM.
