GPS Industries is the leading provider of GPS tracking, telematics and API integration solutions for low speed golf vehicles. GPS Industries approached Vodafone to supply global connectivity. Vodafone’s Managed IoT Connectivity Platform allows the business to scale quickly as it moves into new markets.
GPS Industries required global connectivity for its golf cart solution to work. The business needed a way to transmit data, reliably, with consistent pricing and easy management, in every country in which it operates.
GPS Industries moved to the Managed IoT Connectivity Platform allowing them to install a single SIM on all golf carts. The Vodafone solution enables GPS Industries to deliver 3 key functionalities. Firstly, in terms of course management, golf carts can now be tracked, allowing marshals to monitor the pace of play. Carts can also be remotely slowed or stopped if they go into restricted areas. Secondly, for golfers, the carts provide information on each hole, including flyovers and interactive scorecards. They can also order food and drinks from the cart. Finally, for cart manufacturers, the Vodafone SIM sends back live technical data. This allows manufacturers to better plan service visits or intervene ahead of potential problems.
