While we wait for self drive cars, let’s enjoy Internet In The Car

A robotic future

According to Gartner, by 2020, there will be a quarter billion connected vehicles on the road with automated driving capabilities. Robotic cars are becoming more and more popular. Yet we all realise that much more development is needed before these cars become available. While we are waiting for the moment to come, we can sit back and relax, read a book, watch a film or play an online game, or even work while our cars take us to meetings.

No need to wait any longer

Vodafone is making the connected car a reality by providing secure managed connectivity between the cars via its Internet of Things network.
Imagine your car providing data that reduces insurance costs and fuel consumption. Data from the vehicle provides better information for predictive maintenance, and even report accidents to help speed roadside repair and recovery.

Wi-Fi hotspot on the road

Your car can communicate its status that helps to protect it from theft and enable faster stolen vehicle retrieval. While you still need to concentrate on the road, your car can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Each passenger can use their smartphones or tablets to watch their favourite movie, play games or listen to music.

Our solution will soon be available for scooters powering useful applications in the scooter and creating the same Wi-Fi connection and; to its driver in the same way as your car.
