Machina Research names Vodafone 'the consistent global leader' in IoT services for the 5th year running

Analyst Views

Analyst firm Machina Research again named Vodafone ‘the consistent global leader’ in IoT services, in its 2016 IoT Communications Service Provider Benchmarking report. This is the 5th consecutive year that we’ve been the leader in this report.

The report recognises our global scale, our depth of specialist expertise and the strategic focus we place on IoT, specifically highlighting the value of our Managed IoT connectivity platform:

“The fact that (Vodafone’s global M2M platform) is an in-house developed system means it is fully under Vodafone’s control,” said the report. “This allows for more integration with the platform. It also provides more certainty… this is especially valuable when responding to customer RFPs that have very specific requirements, especially around network control and security.”

The Machina Research report confirms that we continue to be the global leader in the managed IoT communications market. As Machina Research highlighted, we were the fastest-growing player in the sector last year, with our IoT connections growing by 38%.

It’s these advantages that led Machina Research to say it’s “clear why (Vodafone) would consistently be on the short-list of multinational corporations seeking seamless global IoT services,” and that Vodafone has a “strong pedigree in supporting enterprise customers.”
