Retail organisations around the world are always looking for ways to enhance the purchasing experience. Vodafone demonstrates how M2M technology is helping new ways to engage with increasingly savvy shoppers.
From connected products and digital marketing to connected display cabinets, there are plenty of opportunities for consumer goods and retail companies to benefit from Machine-to-Machine (M2M) technology. M2M is already being used across the world to improve supply chain effectiveness and get products to stores more quickly; to cut energy use and maximise utilisation; even to interact directly with consumers through connected in-store services such as digital signage and wireless point of sale.
At Mobile World Congress 2014, Vodafone M2M (Hall 3, Stand 3A11) will present the concept of ‘Smart Retail’- characterised by innovative uses of technology that drive customer experience and maximise a company’s business performance. Eighty three per cent of retailers and consumer goods brands believe that M2M is the future for customer interaction. At the Vodafone M2M stand, visitors will see how this potential translates into real-life implementations of these technologies via demonstrations of Vodafone’s innovative M2M solutions.
In this fast paced media environment, it can be a challenge for retailers to find new, engaging ways get their message across to consumers. At MWC 2014 Vodafone presents a unique digital signage demonstration from its partner Admirror. This unique technology enables advertisers to present dynamic content from inside a mirror that can be updated in real time using Vodafone’s secure global M2M network.
Visitors will also be able to get a hands-on experience with the brand new Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 4G LTE, complete with Vodafone’s smart SOBE technology, which allows users to start getting content whenever and wherever they want, straight out of the box in just a few clicks.
Ultimately, M2M is about transforming ordinary products into intelligent assets and no product demonstrates that better than the Vodafone Connected Cabinet. The smart retail device is able to report its location, operational status and stock levels in real time. The 2.0 version on show at MWC 2014 comes complete with Wi-Fi capability and advertising features. So why don’t you come down, grab a drink and discuss how M2M can transform your retail business.
