Private, MPLS-based WAN service

Following the acquisition of Cable&Wireless Worldwide we can now offer an IP-VPN service to our customers. Vodafone IP-VPN is a private, MPLS-based WAN service. It enables you to converge your wide area communications onto a single secure, resilient and future-proof IP-VPN. With coverage in over 150 countries, we can connect you to a fast and seamless data network that fully supports your global communications strategy.

More and more enterprises are putting unified communications and cloud computing at the top of the agenda. These services can transform employee productivity, help teams collaborate remotely around the world, and cut operational costs.

If you’re to adopt these new communications tools, you need a fast, reliable and fully integrated global network infrastructure to connect all your sites. But whether through rapid business growth, or through mergers and acquisitions, many global enterprises have ended up with a complex assortment of network types from different suppliers. This situation not only makes it difficult to ensure that you get the consistent network performance you need, but can seriously complicate your global communications strategy.

How it works

Vodafone IP-VPN is part of our Global Connectivity Solutions portfolio, it is a private, MPLS-based WAN solution for multi-national and national enterprises. It provides a secure and reliable network, which intelligently optimises your wide area communications and business applications.

Read how we helped Aviva

Aviva consolidates from 12 data networks to one

The situation

As a result of organic growth and acquisition, Aviva had seven major legacy data networks and five smaller ones, in total supporting 60,000 network ports. This complex and fragmented network of networks, each with its own support model, made it difficult for Aviva to deliver consistent service levels to its users. And it stopped the network from supporting some of the applications and services Aviva wanted to use it for.

Since taking an IP-VPN from Vodafone, Aviva benefits from:

  • Reduced cost of ownership
  • Less management complexity through fewer supplier contracts
  • Lower costs through carrying voice and data on one network
  • Better performance management and reporting

The benefits

As a result of the new WAN, Aviva has also cut operational downtime by 90%, while providing a platform for future services such as IP telephony and other business integration projects.
