The New Motion is a Dutch tech company specialising in charging solutions for electric vehicle drivers. The New Motion difference is not the charging points, but the connectivity of the charging points. Each is connected in a grid, meaning users can hook up, log on and top up from any charge point and it is registered to their account.


Business Need

The New Motion wanted to make the business of charging electric vehicles cheaper, simple and transparent. They wanted to create an online network that would enable users to capture information about when and where they charged their vehicle. For that, The New Motion needed a connectivity partner that could help it develop the solution, to solve technical issues, and to work internationally.


The New Motion charge points can determine the exact usage and cost for every charge, meaning drivers can top up at any New Motion charge point. The solution, developed over four years, is underpinned by Vodafone’s Global M2M Platform. The New Motion charge points are connected via a Vodafone M2M Global SIM.

  • Provides accurate usage data for 20,000 customers across four countries
  • Enables expansion into new markets, including France and other EU markets, and the US
